Swing on the Beach proudly presents the "winter edition" 2023!!

Italy's longest running Swing Festival is ready for a new challenge with the best of bands, top teachers and tons of history and culture.

The Italian Swing Dance Academy, with the support of the European Union, is pleased to present a 48-hour Festival full of Swing with musicians, teachers and DJs from all over the world.
Dance workshops, conferences, Lindy Old Timers, Chester Whitmore's birthday celebration, welcome cocktails, explosive concerts, after-parties and vintage market...all in an edition of high artistic and cultural content that will take place inside the Grand Hotel Adriatico in Montesilvano (Pe).
Swing on the Beach is a 100-year journey dedicated to the "History and Culture of Swing", so get ready for a musical and visual excursus that goes from 1920s Jazz to the present day.
We will celebrate the 104th anniversary of the Queen of Swing "Norma Miller" and we will immerse ourselves in 2 conferences to complete the Swing on the Beach 2023 - Winter edition program.

Her Majesty the "Queen of Swing", Miss Norma Miller, remains a palpable presence during Swing on the Beach, despite her passing on May 5, 2019. Honorary President of the Italian Swing Dance Academy, her figure and her teachings will continue to guide our path and will remain in the hearts of all those who knew her and who will remember her with pleasure during the evenings of the Festival, thanks to dance, music and talk-show.

Association founded in 2010 with the aim of spreading music, dance, culture, customs and style of the 30s and 40s. It has its registered office in Pescara and in recent years has managed to create a vast movement around Swing both national and international.

The Italian Swing Dance Academy boasts an organization and a structure virtually unique in Italy, as it organizes 2 Festivals ("Swing on the Beach" and "LOT - Lindy Old Timers", dedicated to original Swing dancers), manages 2 musical bands (the Billy Bros. Swing Orchestra and the Hoofers Club), has 2 DJs (Lady Swing and Big Daddy), a MC (Big Daddy), has a dance school, organizes weekly dance evenings.

Thanks to the Italian Swing Dance Academy, many musical groups, DJs and dance teachers have come to Italy for the first time, including Norma Miller, Chester Whitmore, Simon Selmon, Per Mogesen, Ian Hartley and the couple Joseph Sewell & Charlotte Middlemiss.

Lady Swing:

Big Daddy:
Band leader of the "Billy Bros. Swing Orchestra" and of the "Hoofers Club", double bass player, singer, arranger, MC (Swing Crash - Swing on the Beach - Swing 'n' Milan - Rome Lindy Exchange - You wanna be Americano - Perugia Swing Festival – Taranto Swing Festival – Royal Swing Festival – Rockin’ Summer Fest), DJ, dance teacher, artistic director (Swing on the Beach - LOT Lindy Old Timers), "cultural agitator", incurable passionate about the syncopated rhythm and all that makes "SWING"!
